Drawer inserts
Adaptable boxes for every need and situation.
A kit of boxes on a 42 mm grid, sized to the inside of your drawer, with pockets traced from your tools.
The boxes
Built from the same four parts, in any mix.

3 × 5 cells · 126 × 210 mm
Shadow-fit
One pocket per tool, traced from a photo of that tool.

2 × 5 cells · 84 × 210 mm
Slots
Several tools in one box: a pliers pocket and parallel screwdriver slots.

4 × 4 cells · 168 × 168 mm
Shaped pocket
An awkward tool gets a pocket shaped to it.

3 × 4 cells · 126 × 168 mm
Divided
Plain compartments for fasteners, bits and consumables.
Cells are 42 mm. Any box size on the grid can be made.
Anatomy of a shadow box
What is in a pocket, and why.
Each part of a pocket is there so the tool goes back fast, comes out easily, and is obviously missing when it is gone.
The grid
Why a grid, and not one big insert.
A single foam insert is a photograph of one day: change one tool and the whole drawer is wrong. On the open 42 mm Gridfinity grid, a change is one box, and boxes travel between drawers, cases and tool containers.
Replace one box
A new tool means one new box, not a new drawer.
Repeat a layout
An approved drawer can be built again for the next bench.
Mix box types
Shadow-fit, slots, shaped and divided boxes share a drawer.
